It’s time for me to hit the road again. This time I will be speaking at the United Fellowship of Churches 2nd Convocation on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Assembly of Truth, located at 350 Hills Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30313, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
I am going to do the very best that I can to shrink my one hour & thirty minute (1:30) seminar into a 45-minute presentation.
What I have noticed throughout these few years that I have been on this speaking circuit is that the pastors who attend and become interested in “marketing their ministries” are not the individuals who actually do the work of “marketing.” Yes, it is vital that these pastors understand why marketing is essential in their growth. However, they seldom have the time to handle the multiple tasks and follow up what is necessary to make for a successful marketing program that enhances the brand.
Because of this dilemma, in the 2nd edition of “Getting the Word Out,” I inserted a chapter on starting a communication committee. So my presentation at the Convocation will be about why it is necessary to plan and implement a marketing/public relations/ community relations/ communications plan for your church. I do plan to spend a little time on what should be included.
To those who attend the session, I will gladly provide a seminar in their local church for a more in-depth seminar on “How to Market Your Ministry.”
I am a believer that marketing in the church can be close to evangelism and I often quote Luke 14:23 (KJV) “And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
