We have been keeping a church database here in the offices of First Class, Inc. for many years. Our public relations agency was started in 1975; and we created the niche for church marketing in 1980. It was in 2007 that we got serious about the process so much so that I wrote a book about “Getting the Word Out: How to Market Your Ministry” which is now in the second edition — an updated version of the book.
We build and use our own databases in order to reach churches. We use this database for worthy causes to be communicated to churches, ministers, preachers, and other religious leaders. We do not sell this database; it is only used by us for the clients we represent; and we are very careful about the clients we represent. Some of our clients have included Road Scholar; The Center for Civil and Human Rights; the Atlanta High Museum; the Alliance Theatre; and The Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center).
We have offered the churches and individuals on our list various discounted arrangements for tickets, admission to special events; and other perks. We have provided complimentary services for many of the churches on our list in helping them to reach media and to promote their programs and projects.
With Internet Marketing and Social Media Marketing growing by leaps and bounds, it is difficult to keep up to date and to provide expertise with the various platforms used to communicate. Out internal costs for maintaining an email distribution host has grown more and more expensive as our list of churches has gotten longer and longer. We cannot keep our cost at a level where our people can afford them unless we make changes in how we provide services.
Therefore, we are asking for your clarification. If you get this blog, please let us know if you would like to be on our church database. In addition, we plan to send an exploratory emailing out to the database to test the water and to ask if those who received the message if they would like to continue receiving news and other information from us.
We hope you will participate in our simple survey. Hearing nothing from you will mean that we will remove your organization from the database. Feel free to pass this message on to other individuals or organization that you think we might have missed.
